Mikel Harps (HK) Ltd is a Hong Kong maker of lever harps, positioned around professional specification at a more affordable price so that students and school ensembles can realistically own their first instrument. Buying from the maker has practical advantages that a dealer cannot match: string spacing, tension and the number of levers can be discussed against the player's height, hand size and the repertoire they are working towards, and a harp can be adjusted as a student grows rather than replaced. Future repairs and replacement parts also have a clear route back to the workshop. The company supplies individuals, teachers and schools, and the website sets out the maker's approach, the models available and contact details for arranging a trial or asking about lead times.
